Directions: For cutaneous use only. Liberal amounts of NEUTROGENA T/GEL® Therapeutic Shampoo should be applied and massaged into the wet scalp and left for several minutes. The scalp should be rinsed, the application repeated and then the scalp rinsed thoroughly. Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo should be used two to three times weekly for the treatment of scalp disorders. Treatment usually lasts for 6 weeks, after which time improvement should be seen. Other Ingredients: Macrogol Lauryl Ether (4), Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate, Cocodiethanolamide, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methyl Parahydroxybenzoate (E218), Propyl Parahydroxybenzoate (E216), Tetrasodium EDTA, Citric Acid Anhydrous, Perfume (Contains Esters of Benzoic Acid, Benzyl Benzoate, Butylated Hydroxytoluene (E321)), Sodium Chloride, Purified Water. ยาทากลุ่มน้ำมันดิน (Crude coal tar or wood tars) เป็นสารเคมีพวก Hydrocarbon ที่ได้มาจากธรรมชาติ เช่น ถ่านหิน หรือต้นไม้ที่ตายทับถมกันมานาน สารเคมีเหล่านี้มีฤทธิ์ทำให้ผื่นของโรคสะเก็ดเงินหายได้ กลไกการออกฤทธิ์ของยานี้ยังไม่ทราบแน่ ปัจจุบันน้ำมันดินที่ใช้ในการรักษาโรคสะเก็ดเงินมีหลายรูปแบบและมีข้อบ่งชี้ในการใช้ยาดังนี้ แชมพูผสมน้ำมันดิน (Tar shampoo) บางครั้งมีการผสม Salicylic acidในแชมพูที่มีน้ำมันดิน เพื่อช่วยลอกสะเก็ดหนาบนศีรษะ น้ำมันดินที่ผสมอยู่ในแชมพู ใช้ในการรักษาโรคสะเก็ดเงินของหนังศีรษะและโรคขี้รังแคทั่วๆไปได้ด้วยน้ำมันดินผสมอยู่ใน Petrolatum ในความเข้มข้นร้อยละ 2-5 ใช้รักษาผื่นโรคสะเก็ดเงินที่หนาได้ผลดี โดยเฉพาะผื่นหนาที่ฝ่ามือและฝ่าเท้า ข้อดีของยากลุ่มน้ำมันดิน คือเมื่อยาออกฤทธิ์ทำให้ผื่น หรือ ปื้น ผิวหนังอักเสบ สงบลง เมื่อผื่นผิวหนัง อักเสบสงบลงมักสงบไปได้ยาวนาน การกลับเป็นซ้ำใหม่เกิดได้แต่ช้ากว่าเมื่อใช้ยาทาสตีรอยด์ ข้อด้อยของยากลุ่มน้ำมันดิน ยานี้ไม่มีบริษัทผลิตสำเร็จรูปขายในห้องตลาดเมืองไทย จะหาซื้อยานี้ได้จากโรงพยาบาลใหญ่ๆทั่วไป ยกเว้น แชมพูผสมน้ำมันดินที่มีผู้ผลิตออกขายในท้องตลาดหลายบริษัท ครีมที่ผสมน้ำมันดิน มีสีและกลิ่นไม่น่าใช้ ผู้ป่วยบางรายทนกลิ่นยาไม่ได้ ข้อด้อยที่สำคัญอีกอย่างหนึ่ง คือ ยาออกฤทธิ์ช้าไม่ทันใจผู้ป่วยและญาติ ดังนั้นผู้ที่ใช้ยาทากลุ่มนี้จึงต้องให้เวลานานเป็นสัปดาห์ก่อนที่จะเห็นผลของยา ตำแหน่งที่ไม่ควรใช้ยากลุ่มน้ำมันดินคือ บริเวณหน้า และอวัยวะเพศ เพราะผิวหนังบริเวณนี้บาง เกิดการระคายเคืองได้ง่าย
